Henry A. Allen, aged 57 years, died yesterday morning at his home in Lafayette
Annex, after a brief illness. A native of North Carolina, he had lived in this
city nine years and was greatly esteemed. He is survived by his wife and two
daughters, Misses Annie and Jessie Allen, a son, H. B. Allen, all of Norfolk;
two brothers, George Allen, of Washington, NC, and Luther Allen, of Roper, NC;
two sisters, Mrs. A. P. Peacock, of Roper, NC, and Mrs Hannah Lathom, of
Plymouth,NC. He was a member of Industry Council, Fraternal Americans. The
funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence on First street.
