Norfolk Journal and Guide, Nov. 10,1973
Samuel Hawes Allen, 95, of 901 Greenway Court, retired from Seaboard Air Line 
Railroad Credit Union after 40 years, died Nov. 5 in a nursing home.

He was a native of Hebron, VA and a member of Second Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Allen Powell of McKinney, VA., and Miss 
Mamie Allen of Ford, VA.

A funeral service was held Nov. 7 in Elmwood Cemetery.  Cox Funeral Home had 
charge.
