Norfolk - Mrs. Berderlee Alston of 979 Rugby St., wife of Deedom Alston, 
died March 30 in a hospital.

A native of Elizabeth City, NC, she was a member of St. John A.M.E. Church, 
Eastern Star, and Phyllis Wheatley Circle.

Other survivors include three sons, the Rev. E. Deedom Alston of Louisville, 
KY, Elbert L. Alston of Rahway NJ, and Lamar F. Alston of Norfolk.

A funeral service was held April 2 in St. John A.M.E. Church by the Rev. A. 
R. Powell. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Jones Funeral Home in charge.
