Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 27, 2009
CHESAPEAKE - Clarence Wayne Alston, 59, of the 200 block of Thrasher Road, 
passed away in Chesapeake. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of Mildred Hall 
Alston and the late John W. Alston. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he worked as a 
marine equipment specialist at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He attended Cedar Road 
Chapel and was a radio-controlled model sailboat enthusiast. 
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sharon E. Alston; a daughter, 
Jennifer E. Alston; two brothers, W. Calvin Alston and his wife Gloria and C. 
Wilbur Alston and his wife Martha, all of Chesapeake; and a niece, Patricia 
Condrey of Elizabeth City, N.C. 
A funeral will be held Tuesday at noon in Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier 
Chapel, with Pastor Terry Reel officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside 
Memorial Park, Norfolk. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8 p.m.
