Virginian Pilot October 16, 1985

George William Alston Sr., 45, of 2943 Kimball Terrace, a native of Norfolk, 
died Monday in his home.
Mr. Alston is survived by his wife, Norma M. Alston; three daughters, 
Melvine Alston, Esther Alston and Yolanda Alston, two sons, George Alston 
and Darrick Alston and a foster son, Anthony Williams, all of Norfolk; four 
sisters, Esther Wright of Norfolk, Debrah Alston and Rosa L. Alston, both of 
Forestville, Md. and Louise Alston of Texas; two brothers, Alfred Alston and 
Robert Alston, both of Norfolk; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Twilight Funeral Home 
Chapel.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Visitation will begin tonight.  A Christian wake service will be held from 7 
to 8 p.m. Thursday.  The family will assemble at noon Friday in the 
residence for the procession.
