Alston, of the 2000 block of Lafayette Blvd., a retired first-class rigger, died February 17, 1988, in a hospital. Mr. Also, a native of Norfolk, had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth after 32 years. He was the widower of Luvenia Alston. Survivors include two daughters, Jean Adams and Marian Alston, a son, Wilbur D. Alston, and two sisters, Anna Ampey and Ester Savells, all of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Graves Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. J. L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
