NORFOLK - Daniel Alston of 933 Gordon Ave., a native of Littleton, N.C., died
Wednesday in a hospital.

Alston had retired from International Longshoremen's Association, Local 1248, after
30 years, and from Norfolk & Western Railway Co. after 20 years.

He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Littleton, N.C.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Alston; three daughters, Izola Lee and Gina Lee,
both of Norfolk, and Jennifer O'Bryant of Hartford, Conn.; four sons, Daniel Lee,
Gregory Paul Lee and Charles Lee, all of Norfolk, and Christopher Lee of Fort
Eustis; four sisters, Susie Alston and Beulah Williams, both of Baltimore, Addie
Kearney of Richmond and Peggy Kearney of Norfolk; three brothers, Blake Alston and
Robert Alston, both of Norfolk, and James E. Alston of New York, and 10
grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Graves Funeral Chapel by the
Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence.
