Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, April 1, 1993 
Harold U. ``Jitty'' Alston of the 1700 block of Canton Ave., a retired
technician, died March 28, 1993, in a local hospital.

Mr. Alston was born in Charleston, S.C., and was a Methodist. He was retired
from Eastern Electric Wire & Cable Co. after 18 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Alston; his mother-in-law, Lela
Burden of Norfolk; and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Antioch Missionary Baptist
Church by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The
family will be at Metropolitan Funeral Service from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday and will
assemble at 1723 Canton Ave. at 11 a.m. Saturday for the funeral processional to
the church. Arrangements are being handled by Metropolitan Funeral Service,
Alexander and Haskins, Directors.
