NORFOLK - John H. Alston Jr., 83, of the 2500 block of Barre St., died Oct. 21,
2009. Mr. Alston was born in Norfolk June 2, 1926. He was the eldest son of the
late John H. Alston Sr. and Eva Diggs Alston. Mr. Alston was married to the late
Esther Alston.
Survivors include a son, Anthony D. Alston; daughters, Crystal D. Taylor and
Cheryl D. Greene; a sister, Annabell Davis; grandchildren, Cherrod D. Taylor, Le
Andre D. Taylor, Milton N. Greene IV, Corey D. Taylor, Cole A. Graves-Alston,
Antonette D. Alston, Anthony D. Alston Jr., Nia S. Greene, Tiana M. Greene; a
great- grandchild, JaNiya D. Taylor; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at Rehoboth Church in
Chesapeake by the Rev. Horace R. Pratt. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in
Norfolk. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
