Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, October 8, 1992 
George Thomas Alston Sr. died Oct. 6, 1992, in his home.

Mr. Alston was born in Jackson, N.C. He had retired from the Army and was a
veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Alston; a daughter, Dorothy Etheridge of
Norfolk; two stepdaughters, Jeannie Winston and Sharon Austin, both of Richmond;
two stepsons, James Alston of Richmond and Dwight Alston of Gloucester; a
sister, Cheroxie Francis of New York City; three grandchildren; three
stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be conducted at 1p.m. Saturday in Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk,
by the Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. Family
and friends will assemble at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
