A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Robert Amado and the daughter of the late Rev. Clingman and Mrs. Julia Hodges. She was a housemother for Florence Crittenden Home. She was a former member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Norfolk. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Hodges Williams and Mrs. Mary Hodges Williams of Washington; a foster sister, Mrs. Fannie Kelley of Norfolk; a niece, Mrs. Carlesia Henderson of Virginia Beach; and a nephew, Clingman Williams of Washington. A funeral was held in the Fellowship Room of Shiloh Baptist Church by the Rev. John H. Foster.
