Chesapeake - Mrs. Nellie Demma Amato, 78, of 775 Oak Grove Road, died Saturday in 
a hospital.
A native of Norfolk, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; Daughters 
of Isabella; and Christ Child Circle.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Rosine Finn, of Norfolk; two sons, Thomas 
Amato, of Crozet, and August Amato, of Hollywood, Fla.; a stepson, Savory Amato, 
of Richmond; seven sisters, Mrs. Lillie Contino, of Philadelphia, Mrs. Lucille 
Morgan, of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Mary Tretola, Mrs. Joseph Cacace, Mrs. Antoinette 
Presiotti, Mrs. Angie Signaigo, and Mrs. Elena Watson, all of Norfolk; and 15 
grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Burial 
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  The Rosary will be said in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apts., Norfolk, today at 7:30 p.m.  The family suggests memorials to the Cancer 
Society.  The family will be at 911 Westover Ave., No. 7, Norfolk.
