A native of Baltimore, Md., she was a daughter of Thomas S. and Mrs. Laura Cooke Thomas and the widow of Joseph Grey Ambrose. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples) of Norfolk. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Annielaura Dysart of Roanoke, Mrs. Mary W. Martinette of Virginia Beach, Mrs. Frances W. Kunze of Newport News and Mrs. Ruth M. Hanasik of Norfolk; two sons, Edmund G. Ambrose of Chesapeake and Birch V. Ambrose of Norfolk; 31 grandchildren; and 43 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, Chesapeake by the Rev. F.E. Peace with burial in Magnolia Cemetery.
