Norfolk Virginian Pilot Sunday March 20, 1949
Miss Rhoda Carolina Ambrose, 78, a retired employee in the Post Office 
Department, Washington, died Friday at 9:15 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after 
a long illness.  She was a native of Cressville, N.C., a resident of 
Washington 40 years, and had lived in the South Norfolk section since her 
retirement three years ago.
She was a daughter of Henry and Mrs. Rhoda Alexander Ambrose.
Miss Ambrose was a member of the National Christian Church of Disciples, 
Washington.
The only surviving member of her family is a brother, J.G. Ambrose, of South 
Norfolk, and several nieces and nephews.
The body was taken to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where 
services will be conducted tomorrow at 3 p.m.  Burial will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
