AMES, RICHARD DIX – At his residence, 320 West Princess Anne road, Saturday 
morning, January 14, 1939, at 9:15 o’clock, RICHARD DIX AMES, husband of Mrs. 
Laura V. Ames and son of the late Richard T. and Mrs. Louisa Taylor Ames, aged 76 
years. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & 
Bro., Westover avenue at Manteo street, THIS (Monday) AFTERNOON at 2 o’clock. 
Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.
