Ames, was accidentally shot and instantly killed in the home of his father, about two miles west of Churchland, shortly before 7 o'clock Saturday night. From what could be learned regarding the accident, it is believed that the youth was handling a revolver while seated on the side of a bed in his home. The weapon appears to have fallen from the bed to the floor, accidentally discharging when it struck. The bullet hit the boy on the left side of the head, killing him almost instantly. Dr. J.T. Redd of Churchland, was called to the Ames home, but there was nothing he could do. Besides his father, the dead boy is survived by his grandfather, J.W. Ames; a brother, 1L. N. Ames and an aunt, Miss Alice B. Miars. The body was brought to the funeral apartments of J.E. Snellings and Company, 608 Green Street, yesterday morning, where it was prepared for burial. The funeral service will be conducted at the grave in Oak Grove Cemetery at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
