Norfolk Virginian Pilot June 1, 1946
Mrs. Carrie Wallace Ames, aged 70, widow of J. Wesley Ames and daughter of the 
late Richard W. and Mrs. Elizabeth Bell Wallace, a native of Baltimore and a 
resident of Norfolk for a number of years, died at 7 o'clock Friday morning at the 
Mary F. Ballentine Home. 
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Stasie Wallace Stoltz; a niece, Mrs. Mildred 
Thomas; and two great-nieces, Misses Carolyn and Frances Thomas, all of Richmond.  
Services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments this 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. Thomas F. Carroll, D.D., pastor of 
Epworth Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Ames was a member officiating.  Interment 
will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
