Amland, 61, of Hampton Blvd., died Dec. 2, 1996, in his residence. A maintenance superintendent at Cambridge Square, Chesapeake, he worked for Gene B. Glick. Mr. Amland was a native of Norfolk, a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and third degree Knights of Columbus Council 3548. He was an Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Maribel Amland; three daughters, Mary Ives, of Virginia Beach, Teresa Amland, of Jackson, N.J., and Gretchen Goodwin, of LaPorte, Ind.; four sons, Howie Amland, of Roseburg, Ore., Ted Amland, of Marietta, Ga., Michael Amland, of Norfolk, and William Amland, of New Orleans; and 12 grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church by Fr. Joseph P. Lehman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. A wake service will be held in the church at 8 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
