Virginian-Pilot January 19, 1941
ANDERSON, JOHN AMBROSE, SR. – Aged 66 years, died at the family residence, 113 
Orchard street, Thursday morning, January 16, 1941, at 10:35 o’clock. He was a 
native and lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was the son of the late John Ambrose 
and Sarah Frances Ballentine Anderson. The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral 
Home, 124 East Berkley avenue, where services will be conducted SUNDAY AFTERNOON 
at 3 o’clock. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
