Anderson, who received a fractured skull when a fire truck crushed into a power pole at Brambleton and Reservoir Avenues late Monday night, died at St. Vincent's Hospital at 10:40 last night. He never regained consciousness. An operation was performed on the fireman yesterday in an effort to save his life, but proved unsuccessful. Anderson was a brother of Motor prior to joining the fire department several months ago was a member of the Naval Base department. He was thirty-one years old. The dead fireman is survived by a wife, three children, mother, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services have not been arranged. ***************************************************************************** Edward P. Anderson, son of Mrs. M.E. Anderson and the late Edward P. Anderson, died yesterday in his 31st year. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Lawler Anderson and three children; there are also two sisters, Mrs. C.T. Cabler and Mrs. W.L. Carter and three brothers, Charles P. Anderson of West ???, Mass. and John R. and R.L. Anderson of Norfolk. Mr. Anderson was a native of this city and spent his life here. The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the residence, 1113 Highland Avenue. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
