Virginian Pilot January 1, 1961

Mrs. Lillian Midyette Anderson, 83, of 9618 11th Bay St., East Ocean View, died 
Saturday at 3 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital.
Born in Elizabeth City, N.C. she lived in Norfolk 70 years. She was the widow of 
John Ambrose Anderson and a daughter of John Sandlin Midyette and Mrs. Delphina 
Perry Midyette.
She was one of the oldest members of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church and also 
of Norfolk Republican Women's Club.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Thelma A. Bartcher, Mrs. Jenneille A. Milne, 
Mrs. Frances A. Malmgren and Mrs. Helen A. Powell; and one son, J. Ambrose 
Anderson, all of Norfolk; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Colonial Avenue 
Methodist Church for a funeral service Monday at 2 p.m. The body will be in the 
church one hour before the service. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The 
family will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Malmgren, 1400 Halstead Ave., 
Fox Hall.

NORFOLK – A funeral service for Mrs. Lillian Midyette Anderson will be conducted 
in Colonial Avenue Methodist Church today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Arthur P. Roach, 
pastor. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The body will be taken from 
Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to the church an hour before the service.
