She was a daughter of John and Mrs. Martha Johnson and the widow of Jonah Johnson. She was a native of Sussex County and had lived in Norfolk 70 years. She was past matron of Margaret Frances Chapter 101, Order of the Eastern Star; a member of St. Mary's Tent 203; J.R. Giddings Chapter of Jolliffe Union, and Royal Degree Chamber 1001. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary 1076; president of Verbema Thrift Club and the Loyal Twelve Social and Savings Club; and a member of St. Johns A.M.E. Church, where she was president of the branches of Vine Sunday School class, chaplain of the Trustees Aid Club and active in the welfare board of the missionary circles. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bernadine Rasberry of Norfolk and Mrs. Martha King of Riverside, Calif. The body was taken to Riddick Funeral Service. A funeral service will be conducted in St. John A.M.E. Church Monday at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. W.L. Hildebrand, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
