C. E. Griffin, pastor. Mr. Anderson died Feb. 20 at his home, 1047 Galt street, after a short illness. The Old Southland Jubilee Singers, a quartet, sang for years at a Virginia Beach hotel, and years ago toured the North for singing engagements. Mr. Anderson remained active in the field of music as director of the Gospel choir at First Calvary, where he held membership. A native of Jones county, NC, and a resident of Norfolk 60 years, Mr. Anderson had been employed by an area seafood company for 10 years. He was a member of Greater Norfolk Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Porter Anderson, and a step-son Francis P. Anderson, both of Norfolk. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
