Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, February 13, 2001 
Leonthy ``Snook'' Anderson, 82, of the 1200 block of Godfrey Ave., died Feb. 9,
2001, at 7:45 a.m. in Lafayette Villa Nursing Center.

Born in Virginia, she was educated in the Norfolk school system and was a
retired nurse with First Baptist Home for Elderly for 30 years. She was a member
of Faith Covenant COGIC for 23 years where she was the oldest ``Mother'' of the
church.

She is survived by two daughters, Lelia Royster and Clementine Anderson of
Norfolk; a son, James Anderson of Ontario, Canada; a brother, Hubert Payton of
Norfolk; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

A funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Faith Covenant COGIC, 111 E. 25th
St., Norfolk, by Bishop William H. Fayton III with burial in Calvary Cemetery .
Hale Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
