Norfolk Journal and Guide, April 13,1940
The funeral of Mrs. Viola C. Anderson, 855 Chapel Street, who died at a local
hospital March 23, was held at St. John AME Church with the pastor, the Rev. H.
M. Shields, officiating.  The deceased was a native of North Carolina.  She is
survived by her husband Willie Anderson and two sisters.  Interment was in
Calvary Cemetery.  Hale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
