The Norfolk Virginian Pilot October 12, 1943
Major Thomas Anderson, aged 86, son of the late John R. and Mrs. Nancy Jordan 
Anderson, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, died at the residence, 1712 La Salle 
avenue, last night at 7 o'clock. He was a member of Massasoit Tribe No. 77 
Improved Order of Red Men, and Norfolk Lodge No. 32, I.O.O.F. He is survived by 
a daughter, Miss Alverda Anderson, of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the 
Rev. B.M. Persinger, D.D., pastor of Epworth Methodist Church, officiating. 
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
