Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, July 11, 1999 
Clara Louis Anderson of the 6600 block of Glenoak Drive died July 7, 1999, in
Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center.

Born in Windsor, N.C., Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt.
Gilead Baptist Church, a former member of No. 3 Usher Board, a Sunday school
teacher, chairwoman of the Deaconess board for 14 years, Vacation Bible School
teacher, founding organizer of the New Member Fellowship and a member of
Christian Women United.

Survivors include her husband, Deacon Clarence Isaac Anderson Jr.; a daughter,
Dorothy Anderson-Huff of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sons, Bernard Bond, Harvey Louis
Anderson and Avery Adrain Anderson, all of Norfolk; three sisters, Lucy Bond of
Norfolk, Luella Williams and Queen Gordon, both of Windsor; two brothers, James
Henry Bond and William Bond, both of Windsor; nine grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church by the
Rev. Dr. Raymond Dean. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be
ready for viewing from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Monday. The family will assemble at the
residence at 11 a.m. for the procession. Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk,
is in charge.
