Francis L. Andrews, South Norfolk, Is Dead at 87

Francis Luther Andrews, 87, of 1236 Seaboard Avenue, South Norfolk, died at 
his residence yesterday at 10:30 a.m. after a long illness.
A native of Churchill, Md., he had resided in South Norfolk for 57 years.  
Before that he lived for a while in Berkley.
In November Mr. Andrews and his wife, Mrs. Lucy Redman Andrews, who survives 
him, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
He was a son of William and Elizabeth Andrews and a member of First 
Christian Church, Berkley.
Other survivors include a son, William Luther Andrews, of South Norfolk; 
three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Brown of Norfolk, and Mrs. LeRoy Hatch and Mrs. 
Frank M. Dozier, both of South Norfolk.  There are also five grandchildren 
and five great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, at Ohio and Rogers 
streets, South Norfolk.  Funeral services will be conducted there Saturday 
at 4 p.m.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

Francis Luther Andrews -- Funeral services for Mr. Andrews, who died at his 
home, 1236 Seaboard Avenue, South Norfolk, Thursday, were conducted at the 
Francis A. Gay Funeral Home in South Norfolk yesterday at 4 p.m. by the Rev. 
O.D. Poythress, pastor of the South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church.  
Pallbearers were Ernest Sawin, K.R. Hall, W.R. Brown, W.M. Townsend, M.L. 
Wilson, and Earl Kirby.  Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.
