He was the husband of Mrs. Dorothy McFarlane Andrews. Born in Norfolk, he was a son of the late William J. and Mrs. Annie Lanier Petty Andrews. His father operated a bakery on West Princess Anne Road at Duke Street for many years. He was employed since 1947 by Lester D. Lawson & Co. on 25th Street. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Corinthian Masonic Lodge 266, and Dalton Cartier American Legion Post 204. Besides his widow, surviving are three sons, Leroy Jefferson Andrews, Jr., Steven Forrest Andrews and Graydon McFarlane Andrews, all of Norfolk; a twin sister, Mrs. Clarence O. Bell Jr. of Norfolk; and a brother, Graydon Lanier Andrews of Arlington. A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home thursday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Joel B. Whitten of Knox Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
