Mrs. Annarino, Leader of Garden Clubs
Norfolk - Mrs. Bernice Wort Annarino, 71, of 2635 Vincent Ave., daughter of Will 
and Mrs. Edytha Wort and the widow of Tutti Annarino, died Wednesday in a hospital 
after a short illness.
She was well-known in the Norfolk area for her garden club activities and taught 
flower arranging for many years.  She was a charter member and first president of 
Ballentine Place Garden Club.
She served on the board of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs and the 
Tidewater District of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs.  As extension 
chairman of the Tidewater District, she organized 23 garden clubs and was an 
honorary member of many of them.
A native of LaGrange, Ind., she lived in Norfolk 46 years.
She is survived by a brother, Leon K. Wort, of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Tidewater District garden clubs or individuals desiring to 
make a contribution to a memorial bench to be placed in the Norfolk Botanical 
Gardens in memory of Mrs. Annarino are asked to send the contribution to Frederic 
Heutte, Superintendent of Parks and Forestry, City Park Office, Norfolk.
