Virginia Beach - Samuel Joseph Annunziata, 73, of the 300 block of Paxford Drive, 
a retired accountant, died August 1, 1989, in a hospital.
Mr. Annunziata, a Norfolk native, had retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 
33 years and was past secretary and treasurer of the Norfolk Postal Credit Union.  
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church of the Ascension and an Army Air 
Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Russo Annunziata; a daughter, Janet 
Farling, and three sons, Frank A. Annunziata, Samuel J. Annunziata, Jr., and Paul 
V. Annunziata, all of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Camella Shafer of Washington, 
D.C., and Marie Langlois, of Virginia Beach; a brother, Pasquale Annunziata, of 
Norfolk; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Church of the Ascension by 
the Rev. William Dale and the Rev. James Gallagher.  Burial will be at 10 a.m. 
Friday in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Friends may join the family beginning at 6:30 p.m. 
Thursday in the church.  H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling 
arrangements.
