Oscar Davis Ansell, 75. a native of Currituck County, N.C. and the widower of 
Elizabeth D Ansell, died Sunday in a hospital.
Ansell had retired as a merchant seaman and as a sheet metal worker. He was a 
member of Ocean View Assembly of God and the Norfolk Democratic Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy White of London Mills, Ill., Shirley 
Ann Lotter of Norfolk and June Ray Winters of Portsmouth; two sons, Russell 
Davis Ansell Sr. and Gene Raymond Ansell, both of Portsmouth; a sister, Nancy 
J. Nelson of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Wendall Hodges. Burial will be in 
Riverside Memorial Park.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial 
donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Ocean View 
Assembly of God.
