The Virginian-Pilot, Monday, February 13, 1989

NORFOLK - Arthur A. Anthony, of the 900 block of Marshall Ave., a retired 
longshoreman, died February 10, 1989, in a hospital.

Mr. Anthony, a native of Norfolk, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He 
was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Simeona; two daughters, Moli V. Anthony of Norfolk 
and Carmelita A. Towns of Atlanta; a son, John A. Anthony III of Norfolk; a 
sister, Margaret B. Carvalho of Philadelphia; a brother, William A. Anthony of 
Norfolk; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church by 
the Rev. Walter M. Barrett. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Christian 
wake will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in Hale Funeral Home. Friends may join the 
family at the residence.
