Mrs. Anthony, a native of Scotland Neck, N.C., was the daughter of the late Joseph and Georgetta Davis Willis and the widow of Alphonso Anthony. She was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church. She was active in earlier years in the life of the church as well as civic and social affiliations. She was a member of the Usher Board for many years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, St. Thomas Chapter, and the Elks. Katie Anthony touched the lives of many people. Having a large family, she opened her home to the friends of her children and the neighborhood. When you entered the Anthony home there was always enough for everyone, especially love. Survivors include four daughters, Loretta Weber, Deloris Kelley, Ernestine Harrison and Rebecca Archer; four sons, Thomas Anthony Sr., Floyd Anthony Jr., Luther Anthony and the Rev. Lionell Anthony; two sisters, Cotisteen Webb and Mildred Daye; two brothers, the Rev. Percy Willis and Robert Willis; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a faithful son-in-law, Joseph Kelley; a brother-in-law, Clarence Webb; a sister-in-law, Mildred Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 12:30p.m. Saturday in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. G.G. Campbell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will be at 409 Pepper Mill Lane, the home of Joseph and Deloris Kelley. Riddick Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
