His late parents were Thomas G. and Mrs. Nettie Moore Appleton. He was the husband of Mrs. Thelma Rice Appleton. He was a member of Elizabeth River Baptist Church, Doric Lodge 44, AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Temple, Eastern Star Chapter 52, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Improved Order of Red Men. Surviving, besides his wife, are one son, Albert D. Appleton of Fort Dodge, Iowa; three grandchildren and one cousin. The body was taken to Sykes Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
