Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark June 6, 1913

The funeral of Mrs. Nettie L. Appleton, wife of Thomas G. Appleton, who died 
yesterday morning at 11:25 o'clock at her home, 410 Patrick street, will take 
place this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church.  In the 
absence of the pastor, the services will be conducted by Rev. William M. Black 
of the South Norfolk Baptist Church.
Mrs. Appleton was a native of North Carolina, but had been a resident of Berkley 
twenty years.
She was 48 years old.  She had been a member of the Berkley Avenue Church many 
years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Appleton is survived by one son, Rodney 
Appleton; one brother, W.J. Moore of South Norfolk and one sister, Mrs. Ella 
Parks of Chowan County, N.C.
