Norfolk Ledger Dispatch August 17, 1934

Thomas George Appleton, 80, of 204 Patrick Street died at 6:30 a.m. today in a 
local hospital. He was a native of Liverpool, England, but had made his home in 
this country for the last 50 years.. He was a son of the late Joseph Appleton 
and widower of the late Mrs. Nettie Moore Appleton. He is survived by one son, 
Rodley D. Appleton and one brother, Joseph Appleton, of Liverpool, England. Mr. 
Appleton was a member of Berkley Lodge No. 167, A.F. & A.M. and a retired 
boilermaker from the Navy Yard.
The body was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley Avenue, where 
funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be 
in Magnolia Cemetery.
