Antonia was born in Gubat, Philippines, and lived in Norfolk, Virginia for over 50 years. Antonia, or Lola, as her grandchildren knew her, was a devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and aunt/yaya. Antonia loved praying the rosary, babysitting her grandchildren, spending time in her backyard garden growing plants, and attending daily Mass. Most of all, she enjoyed the company of her family and grandchildren. Antonia was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Her faith and love for God was most important in her life. This was reflected in her love for others and their spiritual well-being. After Antonia (Tonie) married her high school sweetheart, Ernesto (Ernie), she traveled with him as he served in the U.S Navy. They eventually settled their family in Norfolk, where she cared for their four children and home, many times on her own, while Ernie was deployed or working. Through "thick and thin" Tonie and Ernie journeyed together for 59 precious years. Antonia was preceded in death by her parents, Resurrecion and Anicia; brother, Andres; and sister, Maria Asuncion. Antonia is survived by her loving husband, Ernesto; son, Michael; daughter, Susan (Gaius); grandchildren: Nicolas, Jessica, Noah, and Jasmine; son, Patrick (Tami); grandchildren: Jena, Isabelle, and Riley; son, David (Chardae); grandchildren: Brennen, Landen, and Camren; brother, Fr. Alfonso Erestain; and many nieces and nephews. The family extends their appreciation to her caregivers from At Heart Homecare & Hospice: Tricia, Joy, and Scott; and Hampton Roads Homecare: Angie and Trenae. The viewing will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, 6:00-9:00pm, beginning with a novena at 6:00pm, then the wake liturgy at 7:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7800 Halprin Drive, Norfolk, VA, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, 11:00am, followed immediately by the burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, 3000 Church Street, Norfolk, VA.
