Walter S. Archer of New York City was buried in Norfolk’s Calvary Cemetery 
on March 18, following funeral services at B. F. King Funeral Home. The Rev. 
E. Paul Simms of First Baptist Church, Bute street, officiated, assisted by 
the Rev. Richard B. Martin, rector of Grace P. E. Church.

Mr. Archer, who died suddenly in a New York hospital on March 13, had been 
in New York City 22 years as a drug clerk.

He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Indiana Knight, Mrs. Ella Saunders and 
Mrs. Florence Wilson of Norfolk, and Mrs. Cleo Robinson of New York City; 
and five brothers, Charles G., Richard B., James P., and D. Edward Archer of 
Norfolk and John T. Archer of Canton Ohio.
