Norfolk - Mrs. Aurelia Archer of 1336 Bolton street received final rites 
Wednesday at St. John AME Church by the Rev. W. L. Hildebrand.  Burial was in 
Calvary Cemetery with B. F. King Funeral Home in charge.  She died Sunday in a 
local hospital after a long illness.

A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of the late Phillip Cotton and Mrs. 
Betty Mackey Cotton and widow of I. Reuben Archer.

She was a member of St. John AME Church, Better Garden Club of Huntersville, the 
Barboursville Civic League and a graduate of Norfolk Mission College.

Survivors are two sons, I. Reuben Archer and Douglas Mackey Archer, both of 
Norfolk;  five daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Turner, Miss Aurelia Archer, Miss 
Generva Archer, Mrs. Audrey A. Robinson and Mrs. Leah A. Hunter, all of Norfolk;  
a brother, Phillip Cotton of Norfolk;  two sisters, Miss Sadie Cotton of Norfolk 
and Mrs. Annie Russell of Virginia Beach;  17 grandchildren and 11 great-
grandchildren.
