Archer, died Thursday, August 27, in her home. A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Pharr and Mrs. Nannie Pharr Bumper. She was a teacher’s aide at Bowling Park Elementary School. Mrs. Archer was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute street, and its Hospitality Committee and Dorcas Hi-Neighbor group, Ducks Social Club, and Trumps Club. Besides her husband, surviving are three sons, O’Hara Randolph Archer of New York, Jereleigh Augustus Archer of Baltimore, and Dr. Lorenzo Pharr Archer of Washington; a daughter, Miss Beverly Myrann Archer of Washington; Lorenzo Pharr of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Myra Pharr Mercer of Portsmouth; and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Bute street, conducted by the Rev. E. Paul Simms. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with B. F. King Funeral Home in charge.
