Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 9, 1936
Alexander Archer, aged 71, son of Burke and Martha B. Archer, a native of 
Chesterfield County and a resident of Norfolk for practically his entire life, 
died yesterday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock at the residence, 518 Mowbray arch.
Mr. Archer is survived by one sister, Mrs. A. Plummer Pannill; a cousin, Miss 
Caroline Archer both of Norfolk and a number of other cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock 
with the Rev. Taylor Willis, rector of Christ and St. Luke's Church, officiating.  
Interment will be private in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Archer was connected with the 
Merchants and Miners Transportation Company for more than 30 years.
