Archer and the late Mrs. Ella Archer, 1303 Outten street, was accidentally drowned Monday evening last, while crabbing off the docks near Taylor's Wharf. When the lad failed to come home Monday night, the police were immediately notified and a thorough search was made for him to no avail. Convinced that harm must have come to Samuel searchers at once began to drag the river for his body. This was fruitless on Tuesday and Wednesday. Diver Booker was secured to recover the missing lad. The body was recovered three minutes after the diver entered to water, young Archer still holding fast to his net and line, - evidence of his heroic struggle, - when brought up. Samuel was a member of the First Baptist Sunday school, student of S.C. Armstrong school and a Guide newsboy.
