Virginia Beach Blvd., a retired shipbuilder at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, died November 4, 1988, in a hospital. Mr. Archer, a native of Norfolk, was a member of the First Baptist Church on Bute Street. He was past exalted ruler of Eureka Lodge, a member of Sons of Norfolk and Huntersville Senior Citizens. He was a Mason. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Archer; three stepdaughters, Bernice Boyd, Doris Trotter, and Helen DeLoatche, all of Norfolk; a sister, Carrie Taliafero of Pittsburgh; and a brother, Andrew Archer of Savannah, Ga. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church on Bute Street by the Rev. Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
