Romer Ian D. Armas, 40, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away April 6, 2020. Born 
in Manila, Philippines, on February 9, 1980, he was the son of Romeo Armas and 
Merlyna Dollete. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.
Romer or Rome, as they call him at work, is remembered as quiet but super smart. 
He was currently working as Chief Technology Officer at Crofton Diving. Ian, as 
remembered by family, was a very loving son to his mom and a loving brother. He 
was always there to assist. He was the “man of the house.” He enjoyed working on 
cars in his free time and airsoft.
Ian was preceded in death by his father. Left to cherish his memories are his 
mother, Merlyna Dollete; two brothers, Loren D. Armas of Virginia Beach and 
Jerich D. Tuceno of Norfolk; uncles, Joeven Dollete and his wife, Amber, of 
Prince George, VA, Rudy Dollete and his wife, Winnie, of Philippines, and Alex 
A. Armas of New York, NY; aunties, Letty D. Quejada and her husband, Nelson, of 
Philippines, Lelanne D. Fontelera and her husband, Roy, of Norfolk, and Leticia 
A. Hayashi and her husband, Steve, of Concord, CA; cousins, Ron, Raymond, 
Allain, Eugene, Lee Roi, Artken, Jan Ryan, Coyie, Adeline, Charis, Christine, 
and Aileen; grandma, Dominga G. Dollete; and other relatives in the U.S. and 
family in the Philippines, relatives, and co-workers.
Arrangements will be private. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive 
Chapel is assisting the family.
