Norfolk Virginian April 9, 1893
The body of Mr. John Armour, a white man, was found floating in the river off 
Atlantic City Friday night and was taken to the foot of First street. Coroner 
Newton, with a Jury, held an inquest yesterday morning and, after an 
investigation, returned a verdict that the deceased came to his death on the 6th 
day of April by accidental drowning.
