ARMSTRONG, PAST LEADER OF PYTHIAN SISTERS Mrs. Louisa Thumm Armstrong, 92, a past grand chief of Virginia Pythian Sisters, died Monday at 2 p.m. in her home, 214 W. 15th St. A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was the widow of David J. Armstrong and a daughter of Jacob H. and Mrs. Louisa Proescher Thumm. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a past noble grand of Virginia Rebekah Lodge 13, and a member of Review 5 of the Women's Benefit Association and Norfolk Lodge 5 of Pythian Sisters, Surviving are a son, David H. Armstrong, and a sister, Mrs. C. Gertrude Burgess, both of Norfolk; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. by Dr. Andrew Bird of First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
