Virginian-Pilot August 3, 1974
NORFOLK – David Henry Armstrong Sr., 71, of 5269 Riverwood Road, a native of 
Norfolk, died Thursday in a hospital.
He was a retired engineer of E. T. Gresham & Co., and a Presbyterian. He was a 
member of Norfolk Masonic Lodge 1, Scottish Rite Bodies, and Khedive Temple of 
the Shrine. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Linda Simmons of Chesapeake; a stepdaughter, Mrs. 
Katherine Killmon of Norfolk; a son, David Henry Armstrong Jr., and two 
stepsons, Merle Haddaway and L. S. Haddaway, all of Norfolk; and three 
grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 5 p.m. in Smith & Williams Funeral Home 
by Dr. R. Harris Kesler. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will be 
at the residence.
