Virginian-Pilot February 6, 1940
Mrs. Louise McIntyre Armstrong, aged 53, wife of William R. Armstrong, Jr., died 
at a local hospital yesterday morning at 1 o’clock. Mrs. Armstrong was a native 
of Fauquier County and had been a resident of Norfolk 34 years, residing at 112 
West Thirty-ninth street at the time of her death. Besides her husband, she is 
survived by two sons, Robert M. and William R. Armstrong, 3d; her parents, Maj. 
Robert A. and Mrs. Lillie Blackwell McIntyre, of Warrenton; two sisters, Miss 
Elizabeth McIntyre, of Warrenton, and Mrs. Ludlow Clark, of New York, and one 
brother, Robert C. McIntyre, of Richmond.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of the H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. 
W. Taylor Willis, rector of Christ and St. Luke’s Church, and the Rev. W. H. T. 
Squires, D.D., officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
