Norfolk - Mrs. Clara Genevive Arner, 74, of 892 Norview Ave., a native of Mount 
Olive, N.C., who lived here 35 years, died Sunday in a hospital.  She was the wife 
of Floyd R. Arner.
She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Third Order of St. 
Francis.
Other survivors include two sons, Carl B. Simmons, of Memphis, Tenn., and Ronald 
M. Simmons, of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Phelps, of Salisbury, 
N.C., and Mrs. Evelyn Whitehead, of Portsmouth; and nine grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.  Burial 
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.  The family will be at her home.
